Category: Sugar Free

Sugar-free desserts built the way most readers actually want them – swapping refined added sugars for monk fruit, allulose, erythritol, and stevia rather than artificial sweeteners like aspartame or sucralose. This section covers cakes, cookies, brownies, cheesecakes, ice cream, and Turkish desserts adapted for lower or zero added sugar, developed and tested by our Food Editor Damla Sengul in our kitchen in Wayne, New Jersey.

Every dessert card lists per-serving calories, total carbs, added sugars (usually zero), net carbs, and protein. Recipes go through 3-4 attempts on average before publication – a sugar-free version has to actually taste like the original or we don’t ship it. Sweeteners used here have small to no impact on blood sugar, which is why these recipes are appropriate as occasional treats for readers managing diabetes with their clinical team.

What we don’t do: label sugar-free desserts ‘guilt-free’, recommend them for anyone with active eating-disorder history, or claim they replace clinical treatment for any condition. Diabetic-appropriate sugar-free desserts carry an additional Registered Dietitian review flag. Sources include the American Heart Association on added sugars, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on sugar substitutes, and USDA nutrient data.
